RELATED EXPERIENCE
Environmental Compliance Associates, LLC, Richland, Washington
President / Engineer / Geophysicist: 2003 - present
Perform customized seismic and potential-field geophysical surveys, prepare SPCC Plans and certify aboveground storage tanks (SP001 protocol), perform Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments, and market firm's services nationwide.

Vista Engineering Technologies, Kennewick, Washington
Senior Geophysicist: 2002 - 2003
Performed geophysical surveys, prepared SPCC Plans, and marketed firm's services to non-Hanford accounts.
Worked on Leak Detection Monitoring and Mitigation (LDMM) Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) Project in Hanford area.

Independent Consultant: 1991 - 2002
Performed environmental site assessments (ESAs) nationwide, including 90+ Phase 1 ESAs as per ASTM 1527 protocol.
Provided expert witness testimony regarding a prior hydrogeological investigation personally performed for a proposed municipal solid waste landfill (MSWLF).
Secured a $100,000 contract to assist client in obtaining a permit to build and operate a Waste Tire Monofill. Wrote hydrogeology and engineering reports, developed engineering design and interacted with State regulatory agency on behalf of client.

Woodward-Clyde Consultants, Little Rock, Arkansas
Assistant Project Engineer: 1990 - 1991
Senior Staff Engineer: 1989 - 1990

Performed hydrogeological, geophysical, and solid waste engineering tasks for industrial and military clients. Pursued, developed and maintained clients. Managed projects.
Coordinated and performed all phases of a magnetic gradiometer survey at a chemical manufacturing facility. Determined locations of buried hazardous debris and drums and utilized this information to develop an incident-free drilling program.
Coordinator and principal author of an underground injection control (UIC) permit application package. The state regulatory agency promptly granted the permit, and used the submittal as a model for other applicants to emulate.
Supervised drilling crews in an exploratory program to define the lateral and vertical extent of soil and groundwater contamination at a large chemical manufacturing facility.
Field supervisor for various ESAs typically involving the installation of groundwater monitoring or recovery well systems.
Have installed approximately 90 monitoring wells.

Arkansas Department of Pollution Control & Ecology (now ADEQ), Little Rock, Arkansas
Permits Engineer / Geologist: 1987 - 1989
Performed investigations of proposed MSWLF sites utilizing geological and geophysical field surveying methods. Reviewed MSWLF permit submittals that included hydrogeological and geotechnical reports, as well as operations narratives and engineering design plans; advised applicants of technical deficiencies.
Earned a reputation for being thorough yet realistic regarding the development of MSWLF permit plans. Finalized submittals became operationally simple, economically feasible, and protective of human health and the environment.

Biotechnical Services, Inc., North Little Rock, Arkansas
Technical Writer (moonlighting job): 1988
Researched, developed and prepared technical monographs for permissible exposure limits (PELs) for compounds not yet commercially available. These PELs were utilized by client company to implement adequate protective measures for factory personnel.
Quantitative values of all PELs were accepted by the client upon initial submissions!

Conoco, Inc., Lafayette, Louisiana / Oklahoma City, Oklahoma / Houston, Texas
Associate Geophysicist: 1984 - 1987
Evaluated oil/gas fairways by interpreting borehole, seismic and potential-field data sets.
Convinced upper management to forgo exploration activities in a non-economic location; saved company $100,000.
Coordinated enhanced processing of seismic reflection data on behalf of exploration staff; saved company $50,000 per month.
Earned a reputation amongst company field crews as that "office geophysicist" who was willing to perform all field tasks, regardless of physical discomfort.

Colorado School of Mines Center for Potential-Field Studies, Golden, Colorado
Graduate Research Assistant: 1982 - 1984
Designed, supervised and performed a gravity study in northern California. Follow-up work involved sophisticated computerized processing and modeling of data. Developed a data processing approach that proved to be more accurate and time-efficient than existing methods.
Successfully defended thesis and presented results to corporate sponsors and fellow graduate students.
