CLIENT:
North Central Arkansas Landfill Authority PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Was the sole author and performer of the hydrogeological component of an extensive Hydrogeological / Geotechnical Investigation regarding a proposed municipal solid waste landfill (MSWLF) site in Clinton, Arkansas. Supervised the installation of a groundwater monitoring network of deep and shallow nested wells and performed slug tests to quantify groundwater movement through the shallow, unconfined, fractured, sandstone aquifer. Correlated well-log and surface outcrop data, to create plausible cross-sectional displays to characterize the geologic and hydrogeologic framework of the site. Several years later, was the designated Expert Witness pertaining to the hydrogeological aspects of the study, with all work deemed accurate and professional.
CLIENT:
Arkansas Recyclable Waste, Inc. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Designed and supervised the installation of groundwater monitoring wells along the perimeter of a proposed MSWLF site. Temporary piezometers were utilized to ascertain groundwater flow direction and enabled the determination of upgradient and downgradient wells. Analyzed soil-boring and geophysical data and prepared a hydrogeological and geotechnical report. Prepared a preliminary engineering design, and discussed such with the Solid Waste Division of the Arkansas Department of Pollution Control & Ecology (ADPC&E, the State regulatory agency - now ADEQ), in order to minimize regulatory deficiencies in the submitted permit application package.
CLIENT: Ceda
Pine Veneer PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Supervised the drilling and installation of groundwater monitoring wells along the perimeter of a proposed inert landfilling area. Performed geologic logging of borings, measured stabilized groundwater surface, and prepared final groundwater flow map.
CLIENT:
International Paper Company PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Coordinated all field activities and supervised the installation of four deep (100 feet) 4-inch PVC/stainless-steel recovery wells. Wells were installed in very loose sands, but were nonetheless successfully set at desired depths and constructed as per the specifications of the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ), the State regulatory agency. All wells were properly developed and produced as anticipated.
CLIENT:
Ethyl Corporation PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Supervised the installation of groundwater monitoring wells along the perimeter of Ethyl's pond solids vault #2. These wells were "nested" with previously installed wells, to enable the client to sample groundwater along the top and bottom of the subsurface aquifer, in order to detect the presence of low-density contaminants (floaters) and/or high-density contaminants (sinkers), respectively. Also supervised (at another time) the installation of monitoring wells along the perimeter of Ethyl's south landfill. This project also provided the client with stratigraphic information, to assist in the installation of a leachate interceptor system along the landfill perimeter.
CLIENT:
BASF Chemical Corporation PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Performed geologic (soils) logging of deep borings, collected soil and groundwater samples, and supervised the installation of deep triple-cased 4-inch stainless-steel monitoring wells at locations along predicted edges of monochlorobenzene (MCB) and ethylenedichloride (EDC) contaminant plumes. Performed all sampling and chain-of-custody procedures as required by LDEQ.
CLIENT:
Georgia Pacific Paper Company PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Supervised the installation of groundwater monitoring wells at strategic locations within the paper mill facility. Performed soil-logging and collected soil samples to determine the vertical extent of contaminants. Performed sample collection and chain-of-custody procedures as required by the Mississippi State Bureau of Pollution Control, the State regulatory agency. Closely supervised the drilling crew to ensure the safety and protection of their health.
CLIENT:
OrganiGro, Inc. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Supervised the installation of groundwater monitoring wells at strategic locations within the Carden Bottoms land-ownership area. Although no contamination was not previously detected, the client wished to establish background groundwater quality for the area.
CLIENTS:
Craighead County Solid Waste Management Authority PROJECT
DESCRIPTION: Prepared site-specific groundwater
monitoring SAPs that met or exceeded all RCRA Subtitle D
